Part 1

Child Abandonment.

This issue is something which is very close to me. Something which I can greatly relate to and I think sharing it out to the public would help myself and those who are facing the same problem as I did. I grew up with a caretaker hired by my parents. I was under her care for almost 16 years alongside with my sisters.

My parents divorced when I was 15. I knew it was coming that time. It didn't really bother me much emotionally as I was very used to their fights. We all were, my sisters too. I was the middle-child and believed to have suffered from this infamous middle-child syndrome. I was mostly emotionally neglected and I was pretty much of an attention seeker. I tried doing well academically as well as in other extra co-curricular activities. In spite of all the effort I put in and the achievements I've made, there is just no fate between both of my parents and me. They rarely took notice of me.I was just a kid but I clearly know what bias meant. I comfort myself often by trying to stay as optimistic as I can. I started comparing my life with those who are much more unfortunate than me, yet I still feel the emptiness in me.Contradictions came in. I have a good life, with all the basic needs I have but emotional support is just something I lack of. The attention from your family. The love of a mother. A void that I desperately tried to fill but the guilt of being a burden to others gushes into my bloodstream. On and off, on and off. As I grew up, I learned to be independent which I think it is an advantage to me. I did well in school, I have friends and school life was normal. I got adapted to the way of living with this void. I moved forward. Well, at least that is what I thought.

When I turned 16, things started to change.

The 24 Days With Students of Fukuoka University of Education

It was 8/08/2014 the day when 5 girls from Fukuoka University of Education moved in with us in the girls' hostel where as 3 boys from the same university moved into the boys' hostel. They stayed here for 24 days. Participating in our college's very own English programme. I still remember vividly how I was anticipating their arrival in the cafe, waiting for calls from the admins, being restless for the whole day. It was today, the day they depart.

During these 24 days of bonding, we learn about each others country roughly or maybe in depth through mixed language conversations. It was nice to know the way Japanese live and learning their thoughts in mind. We went to a few places like Times Square, Batu Caves and a few cultural activities in college.

Here are the list of event that happened during their stay here :

Kiyora's Birthday! 13/08/2014

Kiyora and Yoko. Kiyora made Japanese nabe for us.
This was the first night we celebrated dinner together.
It's been a while since someone cooked for me!
Our first weekend out to Berjaya Times Square.
Group selfie in Kelana Jaya LRT station.
Played Escape Room for the first time.
Great team work.
Made it to the last stage.
But fail to complete it.
Cultural activity in college.
We did some introductory about Malaysian culture.
Traditional costumes, food and many others.
Shu Yun , Sakura, Me

Japanese Cultural Exchange.
The Japanese students did some introductory about Japanese culture and history as well.
Group photo again.

One of our last stop during the 24 days journey was Batu Caves.
Beautiful statues and beautiful caves.
Sadly, people were littering too much.

For the last day, I received letter and gifts from everyone else. It was hard having to live without them since I got used to having so many in the unit. Nonetheless, I enjoy having all of you around!

To all my Fukuoka University of Education students, it was indeed a great pleasure and blessing to have all of you all here. In this less than a month short of time, we did a lot of activities together, had some deep talks about your future careers and I am indeed impressed that all of you are aiming to become an educator. Keep the momentum going and I hope this one month programme of intensive English class has given you tones of help in improving your English.

Where is the turning point?

Been busy lately with college,
Hostel's wi-fi not installed,
Lingering around the cafe,
Making use of the service,
Went Big Bad Wolf,
Read The Good Father.
2nd month of studying A-levels,
I can already feel how dumb I am,
So where is the turning point?

I guess I've entered another chapter?

Started college, met new people. Friendly environment, funny teachers and helpful staffs.

New friend happened to be my room-mate,course-mate and table-mate .

Such fate!

College life is by far good.

Interesting enough.

Overcoming disappointments

I have not mention but for your information, I've applied more than 16 scholarships including sponsorships by NGOs and Government and I've not successfully got any of the scholarship I truthfully wanted. One of it will be Malaysia Matriculation ( Matrikulasi ), JPA Engineering Programme and Petronas. Despite being a fairly well rounded student possessing strings of A's, obviously I wasn't good or capable enough for all of it.

Which led me to this question :

What exactly is wrong with me?

One funny thing is, each and every time I applied for any programmes to Japan, be it by scholarship or paid, I can't get my hands of the programme. It's either my parents we not well off that time ( FYI, my youngest sister went for an paid exchange programme shortly after a few years ), programmes cancelled/not available any more.

Call me superstitious, or am I just that unlucky?

I might sound ungrateful to you but I can't help but feel disappointed at times.
I tried hard for everything but all the things I worked for seemed so out of reach.

Am I giving up? Not just yet.
It has always been a dream of mine to study abroad. By all means I would like to attain the ability and be worthy to be sponsored by big corps or the board of government.

From now on and every point onwards, do not give up.
The taste of failure might be bitter but nothing beats the sweetness of victory after saving yourself from drowning in a mud pool called failure.

Failure doesn't mean you're unworthy, maybe, just maybe you're better of doing something else.
You just need to work a little bit harder than anyone else,
but remember the passion of yours must not lose to your worthy opponents.

JPA Scholarship Interview ( Engineering Program to France, Germany, South Korea or Japan ) Program Kejuruteraan Perancis, Jerman, Korea dan Jepun.

To all SPM candidates/Malaysian students, hey!
Took me quite a while to decide if I should blog about my interview experience for this prestigious scholarship interview. Whatever the result or outcome might be, I hope this tiny experience of mine would make a big difference to you or maybe at least be of help to you!

This interview was held around April 2014 for SPM candidates of 2013.

About the scholarship :
Engineering programme endorsed by JPA to these FOUR SELECTED COUNTRIES
-France
-Germany
-Korea
-Japan

Remember, only for engineering courses. It is totally different from the other JPA scholarship like "Bursary Cemerlang" where only straight A+ students are eligible to apply :) Therefore, this is another good fetch for other straight A's student who would like to pursue engineering in foreign countries.

JPA scholarship or any other government scholarships are usually open for application immediately or a day after the SPM results are released SO REMEMBER to apply as soon as you got your SPM results.

Minimum requirements( if I remember correctly) :
There's different requirements for different countries but in general you need at least 6-8 A- to apply for this programme.
-Malaysian
-SPM leaver

Your Resume
Necessary documents are required during the interview. Make sure you get everything prepared few days prior to the interview. You don't wanna miss anything. For me, I arranged everything according to the check list given into a clear folder. I got all my documents certified before hand just in case if they need it to be certified. It'll make it a lot easier for the person in charged to check all your documents. Besides, having a good resume prepared gives good impression to those who are checking your resume.

Attire
Formal clothing, baju kurung (encouraged) strictly no jeans or t-shirts please.
Dress neatly. Wear shoes that can cover your toes. Hahah
I wore like an OL between :) But I heard it would be better if you wore baju kurung instead so yea :D

Interview
There will be 3 sessions for this interview. 2 fully conversed in Bahasa Melayu and 1 fully conversed in English.
You will be separated into groups. 8 person in a group and you'll be separated into groups of 2 again when you enter the interview rooms. Usually each group will have an equal amount of boys and girls.

My first session of the interview : Mind Games/IQ Games
I would say this was the most relaxing part of the interview. In my case, we were given 3 different types of questions and were required to discuss it as a group and present our answers in BM. Throughout the whole session, you are only allowed to converse in BM, strictly no English. Penalty will be giving if you do so. Be careful ya! Oh yea, you'll be giving around more than 10-15 minutes to finalize your answers :)

Second session : Perbahasan ( Debate in Malay )
I was the penyokong/pencadang for the issue "Kemajuan teknologi merupakan penghakis kemanusiaan" (something like that)
there'll be around 20 minutes for you to lay out points with your fellow team mates. You are encouraged not to refer to the paper of points you've wrote. Go spontaneous.

Third session : Discussion in English
Our topic for discussion was "Food Industry". Very general. But I assume I did well in it :) Like perbahasan, you'll be given around 20 minutes for discussion and each member must present their points accordingly. Bear in mind this is not a debate but a discussion. Do not get all fire up about the opposite group's opinion. Listen earnestly and respect their opinion.

You have to bring your own stationeries. A pen and a pencil will be good enough. Papers will be given during the interview. You are not allowed to bring the papers out upon completing each session.

How I think I did and opinions about the interview.

The interview was overall fun for me and interesting. I get to meet new people and experience more about scholarship interviews like this. If there's one thing I would like to change about my performance for it, it'll be the perbahasan session. Personally, I can write good BM essay but not speak. I stutter a lot but I tried and made and effort to sound confident as much as possible. Couldn't translate and express the points I wanted. Therefore, shame on me for not practising my Malay :( The mind games was fun. It's okay if you have low IQ , ahah. Personally, that's what I think. Do your best in expressing your thoughts and support your team mate as much as possible. I don't think the interviewers were strict at all, most of them were very friendly so relax and enjoy the moment as much as possible. One of my team mates as well as the opposite team member couldn't express well in English (because she was nervous) but it is entirely okay. I don't know if it will affect your results for this interview but the interviewers was nice enough to give them a chance to explain in BM. After all, you are here to learn. Express in what form you think is the best and be confident.

You might be in groups but each of you are judged individually. Therefore, do well and stand out but do not bring others down. All of you might be rivals, but a team as whole. Do not be cocky, be humorous and lighten up the mood. Not a goof kay :) There's limits to being playful. Take this thing seriously cus it's NOW OR NEVER. For my batch, a lot of people choose Germany and France. Not much for Korea and Japan. I choose Japan because I think I could adapt well with my mediocre Japanese, hehe. Whatever your choice is, the competition is always there, don't take it easy okay :D

Most importantly, to those who are reading, you might be wondering if I've got the scholarship or not. Nope, I don't know yet but I will know by the end of this May. Pray hard that I'll get this because I've no other good offers in my hands now! I do hope this will help you a lot and please do well for your exam as well as other co-curricular activities. It'll help a lot if you're an active student. My results were not good enough to earn me prestigious offers. Take this damsel in distress as a lesson and do much better than me! Of course, you've gotta enjoy school while you can too. hehe :) Have a nice and blessed day ahead.

 God Bless You!

Updated : I didn't manage to get the programme :P  all the best to the rest!

Down with flu, sick of waiting

Rants :
I'm down with flu
And sick of waiting

Hmm, I've been waiting for quite some time now for my scholarship status and yes I'm freaking anxious about it. Can't get into matriculation and a few others hopeful scholarship. Regretted for not registering myself for form 6 and I'm wasting my time here waiting for 'something'.

Been such a long time since I'm down with flu. Praying hard that I'll get my JPA Engineering course to Japan now. Life has never been this nerve-wrecking but I guess this is what reality is after you left high school but I'm pretty much enjoying my life here lazing around.

Wheeeeessss :

Drank 'Bo Eight Tea' with my best friend and met up with my tuition teacher alongside with a best friend of mine. Had long conversations till around 12+ midnight.

Got my debit card lately and it's a Hello Kitty debit card!!! :3

Went Nilai University for an interview

Had a lonely breakfast alone in KL Sentral

Waiting for the shuttle bus
The beautiful sunrise

Had Chocolate Lava Cake in McCafe

Gong Cha in Greetown

Cafe Latte by Farm Fresh

Content with the small little happiness in life.

Yay for 100 happy days and life!

Kiniro no Corda : Blue♪Sky Episode 2 Review!

Yes, being a fan of music as well as being a musician myself, I'm interested in all these music related anime! Hehe, I've watch the previous season of Kiniro no Corda/La Corda D'oro Primo Passo's sequel and I personally like the previous seasons better simply because the animation are better and less retarded as to compare with Kiniro no Corda Blue Sky. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the reverse harem of the anime. Who don't like harem? :P

In Episode 2.
Kanade and Kyouya will be put to test their abilities to prove to Seiso's Ensemble members that they're worthy of their position as second violinist. Yes, with Kyouya being Kyouya, he's pissed about the fact he was being played around by Ritsu into this whole ensemble thing. Kanade on the other hand was pretty sceptical about everything and did what she was suppose to do. That is, to start practising for the competition!
So in this episode, our main heroine starts to question herself :
Is she really into it?
Why has Ritsu pull her into this?
What has she been playing (her attitude, passion and feelings towards music )
Her ability

But the main highlight of her dilemma was, her passion towards music and how did she perceive music. Was it the same old days as before?

The key to her questions were answered and discover through out the episode partly by meeting these new people she met ( new characters introduced) Nanami! Haru's cello mate and childhood friend and LEN TSUKIMORI CAMEO. YES. LEN TSUKIMORI.

Nanami, Haru's childhood friend has been going through an episode himself. Struggling rejection and problems with no motivation and self esteem. His encounter with Kanade was mere coincidence when he tried to threw his cello away in frustration.

GIVE IT TO ME DON'T THROW

The awesome Buchou who expel him from the club.

Len Tsukimori's cameo appearance!
He played his magical Ave Maria and guess what?
 It magically affected Kanade .
Kanade redeemed herself and enjoyed playing the violin.
Just like how she enjoyed playing violin so much when she was a child.

Affected by Kanade's heartfelt performance,
Kyouya is back on track to bring his "A" game!

And of course Haru, the strict chibi himself enjoyed Kanade's performance much.
Every member couldn't help but approve both of their abilities.
MY DEAR LEN MAKING HIS EXIT FROM SEISO GAKUEN.
PLEASEEEEEE STAYYYY LONGERRRRRRR
DON'T GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall I enjoyed the episode mainly because Len made an appearance in this series but the episode itself was pretty satisfying. Wish they would include a wider range of classical music like Nodame Cantabile instead of recycling main stream songs from La Corda. Too early to judge but I do hope there's something more to this!

I'm an ENTP

Took this personality test out of boredom and of course to get to know myself better of what sort of person I am. It's pretty accurate and I hope you could try it out :) Click the following link.

I actually took the test twice and got ENTP.

So what is ENTP?
ENTP stands for

Extrovert
Intuitive
Thinking
Prospecting

ENTPs form about 3% of the world population. They're quick with ideas and very argumentative. They put logic before feels and good leaders.  One of the reasons why ENTPs are able to hold their ground in nearly every debate is their impressive knowledge and ability to jump from one idea to another, making unorthodox connections in the process .ENTPs are very quick-witted and original, which gives them a great advantage in debates, academia, and politics. However, they also tend to do very well in many other areas that require a willingness to challenge the existing ideas and juggle multiple arguments.

Get to know more about ENTP or other types of personality here :

Career prospects of ENTP

Have fun :) and tell me which type you are.

Cream cheese muffin?

And so, this was about a month ago! Haha, I went to my friends house and did some backing :) It was fun and it's been a while since I've bake ever since I moved. She INSISTED we should bake and so we did!
Made cream cheese muffin with lemon butter frosting. Tasted tangy, sour and sweet? Nonetheless, it wasn't bad nor exceptionally yummy.
Look my ugly muffins.

Okay, the ugly ones you spotted were iced by my friend :)
NOT me :)
We had fun, she had fun more because she's a total amateur in baking. I'm not a pro but definitely had more experience than her. :P
